The Oak is a stunning piece of art that captures the essence of a fall oak tree. This sculpture painting is a high relief tree that brings a touch of nature indoors. It features shades of gray and silver with a modern rustic background, and is made from recycled paper and adhesives. The Oak is 1/2" thick at the base of the trunk to give it a truly unique look as the branches taper into the sky. Mixed media artist, MK Long

As an artist, I find beauty in the imperfections inherent in the creative process. There's a certain excitement in the unpredictability of art-making, where each stroke of the brush or layering of different mediums brings forth a new challenge, a new emotion. I am at my happiest when I am immersed in this roller coaster journey, oscillating between confidence and uncertainty, knowing that in the end, it all converges into a harmonious whole.

As a mixed media artist, I am drawn to the tactile nature of art, where texture invites exploration and evokes a visceral response. I build each design by hand, incorporating richly textured elements that give depth and dimension, then bring the piece to life with acrylics and a modern rustic style. I enjoy the freedom of exploring various materials, blending colors in a balance that pleases the eye, and incorporating shimmer and shine to capture the light.

My artworks are a culmination of every creative technique I've learned throughout my life. I hope this journey to be my grand finale, a celebration of embracing imperfections, cherishing the process, and leaving behind a legacy of boundless creativity.
